My Dream My Future

Everyone dreams to have a perfect family but I’d never dream of it. All I want is a simple but happy with two children, a boy and a girl and a husband who is responsible and will be my lifetime partner.

I’m planning to get marries at the age of 27 but before I enter parenthood, I want to make sure that I have a stable job that will support them. When I will become a mother, I don’t want t be strict t my children. I want them to see me not only a mother who is responsible of disciplining them but also a friend whom they can run for whenever they have a problems. I want to have an open relationship with them, that they can freely share their secrets as they share it to their best friend. I will give them the rights of being a child, I will give them freedom but of course there will be limitations I want to see them growing and enjoying their life.

My ideal man is not the one who can give me the world but a man who can give me the life that I want a simple but we’re complete and together we will face the struggles coming along our way.

Change: It Starts with Me

“Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no
one thinks of changing himself.”
-Leo Tolstoy

We always notice others mistakes, but we never reflect to ourselves. We are busy helping other people to change but we can’t help ourselves to change. We always say we want change but we are doing nothing. We always complain but we never move.

Progress, starts on change and I’m the only one who can make my life better and I’m the only one who can control my life. We are the one’s making our life. I want to be a better person in the future which I can say that I succeeded. It can only happen if I choose to change for the better.

To improve is not bad; it is the right thing to do always. Change is the only permanent thing n this world.

We change for two reasons, either we learned a lot or we’ve hurt too much. Don’t let our anger, insecurities and hate changes us because we will not succeed instead we choose to change because we want to and because this is our way of letting go of them. From time, we can help others to lift up.

Kannawidan: Ylocos Festival

Every year, we are celebrating Kannawidan Festival and once, lets again bring back the pat, culture and traditions. This celebration started last January 30, 2015 and ended on February 13, 2015, a two-week long festive celebration of happiness. This is not only for us to reminisce the past but it unites Bigueños.

We should be proud of for this is the only city that is preserved. I’m glad to see that even children participated and danced the ethnic music, it means, our culture is still alive even we are here in we so called “modern world.” They are not shy to show where they came from. They are not ashamed to wear “bahag” that symbolizes our very own culture.

OTOP of different municipalities were displayed by these we can see how creative they are to transform raw materials to a useful one. A simple food to a unique one like ginger tea, squash noodles and many more, which is not common, I bet they are all delicious. Bigueños are really talented and unique.

Kannawidan Ylocos Festival aims to create awareness that we are rich in culture heritage, practices and traditions that attracts tourist. We should never forget the past, for they bring us fame. We should treasure and preserve those for the next generations to witness how rich Ilocos Sur in culture, traditions and practices.

Reflection

                                #theendisnear

The end is near. Third grading is almost over and we had one more grading to focus with. It may be hard for us to say Goodbye because March is already approaching and we’ll going to end our last journey in our high school life. It’s hard to let go and leave our Alma Mater.

This quarter, I learned a lot. All I can say is, “Perfect! I made it!” Know why? Because, even though this grading is hard for me, I still passed it. I still understand our lessons well. I still participate well in class. Though, in this grading, I didn't join in any activities in school. I don’t know why. Ugh. -.- May be I’m lazy. Yes, I’m lazy, that’s why.  Third grading, I discovered new things that in fact I never noticed before. I never get interested to those things. But now, I started to love and get more interested to them. Those things that I discovered contributed a lot in my current existence as a student. To be honest, I’m doing a mess in my class during discussions especially when I got bored. Sometimes, I always mess up with my seatmate. I always disturb her when she’s listening to our discussion. That’s the only thing I can do when I get really bored. Though I’m making mess in my studies, I can still concentrate and listen to my teacher. Third grading may be hard but still I find it enjoyable.

The longing is yet to come. Be ready for the next journey as a student. My Alma Mater taught me a lot. I gained knowledge and discovered new things.

New Year, New Me

"New Year, New Me is a phrase you often hear on the first of January. It is very common to start a new year's resolutions but they are a great idea to give people the motivation to do something good for them.

We should let go of all our past mistakes and forget all the negativity, a new year to focus on all the positive things, a year to create new friendships and a year to believe in ourselves. New Year, new opportunities to improve ourselves.

When New Year comes, I always set New Year’s resolutions, but I always failed to achieve most. But as year passed by I have learned to follow it and make it as my guide to do better things. I want the new me is stronger, a positive thinker, has a long patience and know how to let go. My very goal this year is to change for a better version of me. This year, I will wash away all my bad attitudes and start to improve myself and continue the good doings. Hoping that I can do all this things.

The journey doesn’t end because the year did. God always gives us chance and everyday is a chance to be a better person so I will not waste every day that will come. I will grab all the opportunities along my way. I will try my best that I’m doing well and I’m improving for a “better me” not for a “new me”. Because with every improvement and change I may make, no matter what, I’m still built from that same person.

To change is not easy, it takes time. The only thing we can do is to believe in ourselves that we can do it. We should not forget what we are before, because that will be our basis in improving ourselves to someone else. The only person we should try to be better than is the person we were YESTERDAY.

Christmas

December has come and with all the joys of Christmas. But what is the real meaning of Christmas? is it the gifts under the tree, the lights in the windows, the cards in the mail, turkey dinners with family and friends, snow in the yards, stockings hanging in the living room, and shouts of "Merry Christmas" to those who pass us in the streets? Is this really Christmas?

For many people, Christmas is a time of sorrow. They don't have the extra money to buy presents for their children, family and friends. Many are saddened at Christmas time when they think of their loved ones who will not be able to com home for various reasons. Turkey dinners may be only a wish and not a reality for some.

Christmas is a time to renew bonds of love. It's a wonderful time when loved ones can show appreciation for each other. It's also a great time to use that love to build bridges of understanding, acceptance and forgiveness.

Christmas is best enjoyed when it isn't centered on decorations, gifts or festivities, but when love is at its core. Love is the essence of Christmas. Christmas should mean taking quality time with your family and friends. It's about cherishing and celebrating the love you share.

Yet, Christmas can be a season of great joy. It is a time of God showing His great love for us. It can be a time of healing and renewed strength. You see, Christmas is when we celebrate the birth of the Christ child. God sent His Son, Jesus, into the world to be born. His birth brought great joy to the world.

Climate Change

We people are the one who is making our sufferings and causes that makes us uncomfortable in living. As time and years passed by, our world continues to progress until it reached its modernity. But as we take the long road it causes many side effects in the health of our Mother Earth. Climate change is considered to be one of the most serious problems facing the world today.

What is Climate change? Simply, we can define it as the frequent change of the weather in a certain period. How about its deeper meaning? Climate change is a significant and lasting change in the statistical distribution of weather patterns over periods ranging from decades to millions of years. It may be a change in average weather conditions. What are the causes of climate change? We can divide it into two categories… Natural and man made. Some of the natural and prominent causes are the continental drift, volcanoes, the earth’s tilt and ocean currents. While greenhouse gasses is the cause of man made.

We should not take God’s blessings for granted. He created us by His image and He entrusted all the things He made to us. So, we should do our responsibilities. Because in the end we are the one who will be benefited to it.
